LEADERSHIP

small shifts, big leadership

For BIPOC, queer, and trans leaders who’ve felt the usual ways of leading aren’t working. This is for us.

Shift(ed) Leadership is a practice space to reimagine leadership, together.

Centering BIPOC, queer, and trans leaders and anyone committed to people-centered, values-aligned leadership. Shift(ed) Leadership supports leaders shifting into new responsibility with clarity, care, and confidence. Through practice, experimentation, and relationship, we expand what leadership can be.

We lead with

authenticity + integrity

Leading from who we are, showing up honestly and aligning our actions with our values.

self-accountability + collective responsibility

Owning our role and impact while remaining connected to collective leadership.

relationship, joy + creativity

Cultivating trust, dignity, and new possibilities through relationship.

You might be here because…

Who this is for

You’re an emerging leader, new supervisor, or team lead navigating responsibility and want to lead with integrity, accountability, and care.

  • Emerging leaders include folks shifting into leadership for the first time, taking on new influence or responsibility, or intentionally developing their leadership skills. This might happen in formal or informal roles and, for BIPOC, queer and trans leaders, often rooted in lived experience, values, and community contexts.

  • First time supervisors have formal responsibility for people, performance, and growth. They are navigating supervision expectations, boundary-setting, and the realities of “managing” workloads, relationships, and accountability.

  • A new team lead is often responsible for guiding a teams’ work. This can include setting direction, ensuring work moves forward, tending to team morale and cohesion, making or influencing team-wide decisions, and often is a bridge between the team and the organization. Some team leads may also supervise teammates.

  • You’re an organization in nonprofit, philanthropy, or government looking to strengthen leadership, supervision, and internal capacity in meaningful ways.

About Shift(ed)

Shift(ed) Leadership

was founded by me, Yecelica.

I’m a leadership development practitioner, coach, and facilitator working alongside emerging leaders and community-rooted organizations. My work is grounded in authenticity, integrity, and collective responsibility.

I’ve witnessed what happens when people are asked to lead without support, and what becomes possible when leadership is approached as something that can be learned, practiced, and shared.
